Medellin

Located in a luscious green valley, Medellin is a beautiful city of just under 3 million inhabitants. At 5,036 ft above sea level, Medellin has a pleasant average temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit. Medellin is considered by many to be the most economically and culturally advanced city of Colombia. Medellín is an international business center for fashion, textiles, flowers (Colombia is the second largest supplier to cut flowers to the U.S., after China), clothing and leather goods. Medellin also has the most modern metro mass transit system in Colombia. The Medellin transit system consist of a central train line connected to an extensive bus system and for the steeper slopes, a cable car system.

Medellín offers the visitor museums, concert halls, historic churches, 4 spectacular golf courses, horse back riding, Botanic Gardens, Zoo, the most beautiful shopping malls in Colombia, and traditional festivals such as the Feria de Las Flores (festival of flowers) which attracts visitors from around the world, Feria Taurina de La Macarena (Bull Fighting), and the Los Alumbrados (Festival of the Lights), a spectacular display of lights during the holiday season.
