Medellin's pleasant average temperature of 75 degrees Fahrenheit is due in part to its elevation of 5,036 ft above sea level. Medellin is considered by many to be the most economically and culturally advanced city of Colombia. Medellín is an international business center for fashion, textiles, flowers (Colombia is the second largest supplier to cut flowers to the U.S., after China), clothing and leather goods. Medellin also has the modern metro mass transit system in Colombia that consist of a central train line connected to an extensive bus system and for the steeper slopes, a cable car system.
